Seasonal Flexibility Across Multiple Spaces
Darts Farm is a venue that lives and breathes with the seasons. The audio system needed to adapt to a business that operates very differently in the quiet of winter compared to the bustle of a summer's day. George Dart, representing the family business, was clear about the requirement: the system must be easy to manage and flexible enough to match the changing rhythms of the farm throughout the year.
The specification covered the restaurant bar area, the main seating and retail spaces, the cafe, the outdoor courtyard and terrace, and the landscaped areas around the building. Each zone needed its own character, with the ability to adjust levels and content independently.
Indoors and Out
The Sonance Professional Series was specified across all indoor zones. Two PS-P83T pendants with a PS-S210SUBT subwoofer create a warm, engaging atmosphere in the restaurant bar. Six PS-P63T pendants provide elegant coverage across the main seating and retail areas. Eight PS-C63T in-ceiling speakers deliver discreet audio in the cafe, where the emphasis is on a relaxed, understated ambience.
Outdoors, six PS-S63T surface-mount speakers cover the courtyard and terrace, whilst three Sonance Landscape LS6T speakers, concealed within planters, provide audio across the landscaped areas. The combination of Professional and Landscape ranges ensures a seamless transition from indoors to out, with consistent Sonance quality throughout.
The Engine Room
The audio system is powered and managed by a comprehensive Yamaha platform. A Yamaha MTX5-D processor provides intelligent signal routing and zone management, with an XMV8140, XMV4140, PA2030, and PX3 amplifier combination delivering power precisely matched to each zone's requirements. Yamaha MCP-1 and DCP-1 controllers give staff intuitive, accessible control across the venue.
This depth of Yamaha processing and amplification ensures that the system is not only powerful but also precise, allowing the Darts Farm team to manage audio levels with the same care they bring to every other aspect of the visitor experience.

The connection between Intelligent Abodes and Darts Farm was forged through the reputation Tim Chugg had already built in the region, notably through his work with chef Michael Caines MBE. Word of mouth in the hospitality sector is a powerful currency, and the quality of previous installations spoke for itself.
Habitech's involvement ensured that the specification was right from the start, with design support and product expertise that gave both the integrator and the client confidence in the outcome.
