Invisible Sound Across Extraordinary Grounds
Anthony Gallon of Clever Association, the integrator entrusted with the project, understood the challenge from the outset. Grantley Hall's grounds are as carefully curated as its interiors. Any audio solution would need to deliver consistent, high-quality sound across expansive outdoor areas without a single visible speaker compromising the visual beauty of the landscape. The system also needed to operate reliably in all weather conditions, year-round, with minimal maintenance.
For a property of this calibre, the margin for error was zero. Guests expect an experience where technology enhances every moment without ever drawing attention to itself.
Sonance Landscape Series: Designed to Disappear
The solution was the Sonance Landscape Series, a range specifically engineered for outdoor environments where both performance and aesthetics are paramount. Clever Association specified 18 Sonance LS6TSAT satellite speakers and 24 LS4TSAT compact satellites, strategically positioned throughout the grounds. Six LS12T subwoofers were buried beneath the surface to provide low-frequency depth without any visible presence.
The Landscape Series is designed to blend seamlessly into garden environments. The satellite speakers, available in natural finishes, tuck discreetly amongst planting and landscaping, whilst the burial subwoofers are entirely hidden from view. The result is an audio experience that feels as natural as birdsong.
Powering the Experience
Behind the scenes, the system is driven by Sonance DSP amplification, with five DSP-2-150 amplifiers and two DSP-2-750 amplifiers providing the power and control required for such an extensive installation. The DSP platform allows precise tuning of each zone, ensuring that audio levels and character can be tailored to different areas of the grounds, from the formal gardens to the more relaxed terrace spaces.
This level of control is essential in a luxury hospitality setting. The ability to adjust the audio experience to suit the time of day, the occasion, or the mood of a particular area ensures that the technology serves the guest experience at every turn.
Lutron Homeworks: Lighting That Completes the Picture
Complementing the outdoor audio installation, Lutron Homeworks was specified for the hotel's lighting control. Lutron's reputation for reliability and elegance made it the natural choice for a property that values seamless integration and understated luxury. The combination of Sonance audio and Lutron lighting creates a holistic outdoor environment where every sensory detail has been considered.
Together, these systems transform the grounds of Grantley Hall into an extension of the hotel itself, maintaining the same standard of refinement whether guests are dining indoors or enjoying an evening stroll through the gardens.
