The Brief

Six Sources, Twelve Screens, Zero Compromise

The brief was clear in its ambition: distribute six video sources across 12 screens in six zones, including three 85-inch displays positioned above the main bar. The system needed to allow staff to route any source to any screen at any time, with minimal training and no technical expertise required. In a fast-paced leisure environment, the ability to change content quickly and confidently is essential to keeping guests engaged and the atmosphere fresh.

Rob Woodhouse of Media-Frenzy North needed a platform that was straightforward to design, quick to install, and intuitive for venue staff to operate.

Video Distribution

Netvio AV-over-IP: Design, Deploy, Control

The Netvio IP-JP4-CL-10 controller sits at the heart of the system, managing six IP-JP4-TX-10 encoders and 12 IP-JP4-RX-10 decoders. The entire network runs over Ubiquiti switches, providing the bandwidth and reliability that AV-over-IP demands.

What sets the Netvio platform apart is its approach to the entire project lifecycle. Netvio 360, the design software, allowed Rob to plan and configure the system before a single cable was pulled on site. The drag-and-drop interface makes system design accessible and efficient, reducing the risk of on-site surprises.

Control

Netvio Go: Live Control in the Palm of Your Hand

For day-to-day operation, the Netvio Go app gives venue staff a live preview of every source and every screen, with the ability to route content by simply dragging a source to a display. The visual, intuitive interface eliminates the need for technical knowledge, meaning any member of the team can manage the video system with confidence.

This simplicity of control is a significant differentiator in the leisure sector. Venues like Roxy Lanes operate with high staff turnover and varied shift patterns, so a control system that requires minimal training is a genuine operational advantage.

Installation

Commissioned in a Single Day

One of the most impressive aspects of the Roxy Lanes Bristol installation was the speed of commissioning. The entire system was up and running in a single day on site, a testament to the quality of the pre-planning carried out using Netvio 360 and the straightforward nature of the Netvio hardware. For integrators working on tight timelines, this efficiency translates directly into reduced labour costs and faster handover to the client.

The combination of thorough design, reliable hardware, and intuitive control software makes Netvio an exceptionally efficient platform for multi-screen leisure environments.

The Result

The Future of Leisure AV

Roxy Lanes Bristol is a compelling demonstration of how AV-over-IP technology has matured to the point where it can be designed, deployed, and operated with remarkable ease. Netvio's end-to-end approach, from design through to live control, gives integrators and venue operators alike the confidence that the system will perform exactly as intended.
