Hospitality
The Collective
A co-living and social hub combining residential amenities with vibrant communal spaces. Habitech Pro designed integrated audio systems spanning the lobby, restaurant, co-working areas, and rooftop terrace, creating distinct sonic environments that transition naturally between zones throughout the day.
Sonance Professional
Architectural speakers integrated across communal zones, delivering consistent coverage from lobby to rooftop terrace.
Blaze Audio
Reliable multi-zone amplification powering distinct sonic environments throughout the co-living spaces.
RTI
Intuitive control systems enabling seamless management of audio zones and scheduling across the building.
Lutron
Intelligent lighting and shading control creating adaptive atmospheres that shift naturally throughout the day.
Audio That Complements the Aesthetic
Michael Glarvey of Luuxx, the integrator for the project, recognised immediately that the audio solution needed to be as considered as the interior design. In a space where every object is curated and every surface is deliberate, the speakers needed to enhance the environment rather than detract from it. The brief demanded premium audio quality, intuitive control, and a visual presence that complemented The Collective's industrial-meets-refined aesthetic.
The challenge was compounded by the four-metre concrete ceiling, which creates a reverberant acoustic environment that can easily compromise audio clarity if not addressed with the right specification.
Sonance Professional Pendants: A Design Statement
Eight Sonance PS-P63T pendant speakers in black were specified as the primary audio solution, suspended from the industrial ceiling where they become a design feature in their own right. The cylindrical form of the Professional Series pendants complements the venue's aesthetic perfectly, providing visual impact that matches their sonic performance. A pair of Sonance PS-C43RT in-ceiling speakers provides supplementary coverage in areas where pendants were not practical.
The Sonance Professional range was the ideal choice for The Collective. The pendants deliver clear, even audio dispersion across the open-plan space, cutting through the challenges of the concrete ceiling to provide warm, detailed sound at every table.
Yamaha Processing and Lutron Lighting Control
A Yamaha XMV-4140 amplifier powers the system, with a Yamaha MTX3 processor providing signal management and zone control. The Yamaha MCP1 touchscreen gives staff a simple, intuitive interface for managing audio throughout the day, from the relaxed tones of a morning coffee service to the livelier atmosphere of an evening event.
Lutron lighting control was integrated alongside the audio system, with a main repeater, 12 dimming modules, and eight Pico keypads providing elegant, precise control over the venue's lighting. The combination of Sonance audio and Lutron lighting gives The Collective complete command over its atmosphere, with both systems working in harmony to create the desired mood.
Where Lifestyle Meets Technology
The Collective is a project that demonstrates how audio and lighting integration can elevate a lifestyle retail concept. The Sonance pendants are not merely speakers; they are part of the design vocabulary of the space. The Lutron lighting is not merely functional; it shapes the character of every visit. Together, they create an environment that is as memorable for its atmosphere as it is for its products.
